MRP designed and
developed the Modular Protection System in 1998 and has now sold over
2000 units to nuclear sites in the UK and for defence
including; the RAF and USAF, in Afghanistan, for ballistic protection.
The modular protection system consists of a series of hollow polyethylene
blocks which interlock on all four edges to provide shielding and structural
stability. The blocks can be installed by one or two persons prior to filling
with the chosen material, typically water or sand. For more permanent applications
concrete can be used as a filler. The blocks are fixed to each other with
polyethylene plates and nylon screws. The system has been designed and
tested to a height of 6 metres, 8 rows high.
MRP has a head office for design, production and warehousing in Bamber
Bridge, Lancashire, in the United Kingdom and has access to markets worldwide
through
key individual agents. Specifically with Terra
Verde Environmental Inc. for distribution in the USA and Canada.
